Fumiko Ladd Chino: This is cruel and unusual
Fumiko Ladd Chino shared a post by KFF Health News on X/Twitter, adding:
”’This is cruel and unusual.'[I said what I said].
Critics say prior authorization has become a tool that insurers use to restrict or delay expensive care. It’s an especially alarming issue for people diagnosed with cancer, for whom prompt treatment can mean the difference between life and death.”
Quoting KFF Health News’s post:
”Prior authorization poses major headaches for doctors and patients, but perhaps none more than those who have cancer. Fumiko Ladd Chino at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center characterized it as “cruel and unusual.” Story by Lauren Sausser.”
