ACS CAN recognizes Ian Padykula for cancer advocacy during National Volunteer Week
American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“For our April Volunteer Spotlight and to celebrate National Volunteer Week, we’re thrilled to highlight Dr. Ian Padykula, State Lead Ambassador for ACS CAN South Carolina! During his time volunteering with ACS CAN, Ian has also served as Legislative Ambassador and Ambassador Constituent Team Lead.
Ian is a cancer researcher whose work focuses on cervical cancer. Last month, Ian traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the One Voice Against Cancer Lobby Day to meet with his lawmakers and discuss the importance of cancer research funding. Ian is especially passionate about advocating for cancer research funding because both of his parents are cancer survivors, which inspired his work as a cancer researcher.
Advocates like Ian make the fight against cancer possible and we couldn’t do this work without them!”
