Lung Cancer Consensus Statement is now officially endorsed by ICC
The Institute of Cancer and Crisis (ICC) shared on LinkedIn:
“We are thrilled to announce that the Lung Cancer Consensus Statement, titled Bridging the Gap in the Diagnosis and Management of Lung Cancer, is now officially endorsed by The Institute of Cancer and Crisis (ICC)! This important document was first ratified at the 9th International Lung Cancer Network in Athens in June 2023 and has been presented at notable conferences, including the 5th Emirates Oncology Society Conference in Dubai and the IASLC Pan-Africa Conference on Lung Cancer.
As health professionals committed to supporting individuals at risk for and living with lung cancer, we stand united around five key principles:
- Improve and Expand Prevention: Advocate for the World Health Organization Framework on Tobacco Control and promote healthy behaviors.
- Focus on Early Detection: Initiate screening programs and enhance outreach to underserved populations.
- Ensure Equitable Access to Treatment: Foster collaboration for timely and sustainable access to therapies.
- Build Partnerships and Promote Investment: Strengthen alliances to prioritize lung cancer awareness and action.
- Combat Stigma: Address unconscious bias and improve public understanding that lung cancer can affect anyone.
Let’s work together to create policies that enhance outcomes for those affected by lung cancer worldwide. There is no time for complacency – we must act now!”
