CS Pramesh: This is rubbish
CS Pramesh, Director at Tata Memorial Hospital, shared a post by Kant Shah, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, on X/Twitter adding:
“This is rubbish Tata Memorial Centre ensures that no child with cancer gets deprived of optimal treatment just because of poverty. 90% of children treated at our hospital are supported not just for medical costs but also accommodation and education thanks to ImPaCCT Foundation and St. Jude India ChildCare Centres.
While you could always argue for additional funding for medical (and cancer) (and paediatric cancer) care, we need to place facts central to our arguments.”
Quoting Kant Shah’s post:
“Children are absolute fighters. The government should ensure they get the best medical care. The rates under all govt schemes for paediatric surgery are too less to enable salvaging such babies. Similarly funding by big institutes like Tata memorial and AIIMS is a pittance.”
