Dare to be different – Isabel Mestres
1️⃣Dare to be different
2️⃣Embrace the freedom to be bolder
3️⃣Drive local innovation
Those were my takeaways from City Cancer Challenge last Board of Directors meeting.
The Board meeting was our first ever off-site at one of our C/Can cities: Nairobi 🇰🇪. Being here, together on the ground, was a great opportunity for the members to meet with key stakeholders and listen to their local needs, challenges and the value that C/Can brings to support change.
Over the last year, we have built a very engaged , committed and trusted board team. They are made up of a diverse range of entrepreneurs and innovators, each of them with their own backgrounds, life experiences and skill sets. But they all share the same mission: to improve the life of cancer patients and their families in LMICs.
I am proud of the diversity and talent of the team we have, and I know that with these leaders and experts in their fields, at C/Can we will be able to provide even greater innovation and impact for cancer patients over the coming years.
A big thanks to Sanchia Aranda AM, Jörg-Michael Rupp, Nneka Mobisson, Stuart Bennett, M.D. MBA, Andrew Whitman, Mary Gospodarowicz, Guillermo Rivera Rio, Valentina Gizzi, Justin Abbott for joining us this week. I’m looking forward to meeting up again very soon!
