The intersection of maternal and newborn health – The Max Foundation
The Max Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The intersection of maternal and newborn health when a mother faces cancer makes their need for comprehensive care particularly critical. In line with this year’s World Health Day theme, we are sharing the story of Esther who lives in Nairobi, Kenya. A 47-year-old mother and tea shop owner, Esther discovered she was pregnant after getting diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.
Finding strength and support from other survivors, Esther’s journey is a testament to resilience and hope. She focused on life beyond her diagnosis, giving birth to a beautiful son who brings joy and light to her life.
Watch Esther’s inspiring story and join us in advocating for healthier beginnings and hopeful futures for all mothers and newborns.”
