
AACR Announces 2025 Class of Fellows and New Academy President
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has announced its 2025 class of Fellows of the AACR Academy, recognizing 33 outstanding scientists for their contributions to cancer research.
These newly elected Fellows are leaders in the field, driving innovation in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Their selection follows a rigorous peer-reviewed process, ensuring that only those who have made a lasting impact on cancer science receive this prestigious honor.
Margaret Foti, PhD, MD, CEO of AACR, shared her excitement:

With this new class, the AACR Academy now includes 375 of the world’s leading cancer researchers.

Elaine V. Fuchs is the AACR Academy’s New President
The Fellows of the AACR Academy have elected Elaine V. Fuchs, PhD, FAACR, as their next President. She’ll take on the role at the AACR Annual Meeting 2025, April 25-30 in Chicago, Illinois.
Fuchs, a pioneer in skin stem cell research, became a Fellow of the AACR Academy in 2013. Her work has transformed our understanding of skin biology, from stem cell function to carcinogenesis. She’s been recognized with the National Medal of Science (2009) and the AACR-G.H.A. Clowes Memorial Award (2019).
She also served on the AACR Board of Directors from 2020-2023.
