Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus: TU Delft, AI becomes WHO Collaborating Centre on AI for Health Governance
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, posted on LinkedIn:
“AI holds immense promise for transforming health systems, improving health and saving lives.
From diagnosis and clinical care to disease surveillance and health systems management, AI is already making significant strides. But ethical data collection, preventing biases, and promoting equity are paramount.
As we embrace these innovations, it is crucial to stress the importance of governance and ethics in AI for health. A new WHO Collaborating Centres, such as TU Delft’s Digital Ethics Centre, will play a pivotal role in this ecosystem.
My congratulations to TU Delft, AI, on becoming a WHO Collaborating Centre on AI for Health Governance.
And my thanks also to International Telecommunication Union and World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO for their partnership in this new collaborating centre through the global initiative on AI for health.”
