Alessandra Vaccaro: What can we do as a community to improve clinical outcomes?

Alessandra Vaccaro, Postdoctoral fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared her recent article on LinkedIn:

Ready to significantly improve cancer patients’ lives?

Immunotherapy has revolutionized the treatment landscape for cancer patients, including those with lung cancer. Yet, much remains to be done to understand the mechanisms that drive therapeutic resistance in some of our patients.

What can we do as a community to improve clinical outcomes?

Very proud to share our recent In Focus piece, just published in Cancer Discovery (AACR Journals), where we review groundbreaking clinical studies that have advanced immunotherapeutic approaches for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

In this piece, we offer a thoughtful perspective on how future research efforts can be streamlined to improve patient stratification and personalize therapeutic interventions, extending the clinical benefit of immunotherapy to a greater number of patients.

At AACR IO25 in Los Angeles?

Don’t miss an excellent talk from my fantastic mentor, Dr. Tina Cascone, this morning for more insights into how we can foster significant therapeutic progress for our lung cancer patients!

A CTLA-4 fan?

Make sure to pass by Michael Wang’s poster this afternoon for an inspiring glimpse into new strategies to improve the efficacy of CTLA-4 therapy for NSCLC!

Finally, exciting Opportunity Alert!

Are you passionate about immunotherapy, lung cancer, and striving to make a true difference for our patients?
