More important than the abstracts are the amazing tacos you must eat in this city. Here is a tweetorial where you must eat.
Oscars in Pacific Beach (two locations right by beach)
My personal favorite chorizo shrimp taco.

The flies mignon taco is my personal favorite
They literally bake cheese into the tortilla. Solid move.
The Taco Stand in La Jolla
The al pastor taco or burrito is my go to. Long lines usually so go and off hours or just drink beer while waiting.
Rigobertos on Garnet Street in Pacific Beach
Nothing fancy just cheap goodness and large quantity. After a long BMT call this is me sanctuary. A huge carne asada burrito awaits.
The Crack Taco Shop in Cardiff
Be sure to get the “Cardiff Crack” try-tip steak taco. It is better than crack.
Tacos El Gordo in Chula Vista
Tijuana style tacos without having to go to TJ. This place is good, however, if you are more adventurous just hop over the border.
Las Cuatro Milpas (downtown)
This is authentic old school tacos and everything on the menu is legit.
