Ritu Mittal Garg: Cancer awareness is a year-round commitment
Ritu Mittal Garg, Chief Growth & Innovation Officer at Fortis Healthcare, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Fortis Cancer Institute!
Cancer awareness is a year-round commitment, and we’re dedicated to spreading hope and resilience throughout February and beyond!
Approximately 1 in 5 people worldwide are likely to develop cancer in their lifetime. But here’s the hope: early detection and advancements in medical science are changing the narrative!
Thanks to advancements in medicine, cancer mortality rates continue to decline over the past two decades!
At Fortis Healthcare, we’re proud to have joined forces with millions across India to build awareness and normalize cancer conversations. Multiple Fortis hospitals and landmark locations like the Qutub Minar, Pataudi Palace, highway toll and more were illuminated in ‘Purple’ to raise awareness about Cancer and our unwavering commitment to fighting it till the very last cell.
We took our message of Unique Cancer Care to the streets, reaching over 10 million commuters every single day through Manesar toll plaza, Delhi Metro, Mumbai Locals, and Bangalore bus stops. Teams across the country organized awareness drives in several malls across the country, engaging with people and spreading awareness about cancer.
Joining us, were our doctors and experts who took to social media, participating in live sessions and discussing the latest advancements in precision medicine, genomics, and more. From prevention measures to revolutionary therapies and technology, we’re demystifying cancer and spreading awareness far and beyond!
At Fortis Gurgaon, team celebrated cancer survivors with a heart warming fashion show, where they walked the ramp with confidence and poise. And also organized a vintage car rally to spread awareness and hope.
At the heart of all efforts is the, where India’s renowned cancer experts come together for a larger purpose and cause. Multidisciplinary team of experts works tirelessly to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to patients.
Countless inspiring stories, courage and strength of our cancer survivors inspire each one of us to strive for excellence in everything we do, every single day!
We’ve made a solid start in building awareness about cancer. Let’s continue to spread hope, resilience, and awareness throughout the month. Let’s make cancer a manageable reality, rather than a dreaded diagnosis.”
