Key French leaders and cancer advocates hosted a special session to mark WCD2025 – ECO
European Cancer Organisation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In 2003, French President Jacques Chirac stated: ‘Cancer won’t be beaten in a day, but, one day it will be, because we are strongly committed.’
More than 20 years later, World Cancer Day was celebrated in the French National Assembly, where the European Cancer Organisation was invited.
Key French leaders and cancer advocates hosted a special session to mark WCD2025 including Deputy Minister for Health Yannick Neuder, President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet, Members of Parliament Michel Lauzzana, Nicole Le Peih, Sandrine Josso.
Together, they committed to improving cancer care, from prevention to treatment and patients’ quality of life. Key highlights:
- Patients and their carers must remain the compass and be supported thanks to robust social policies;
- France must remain at the forefront of innovation and strive to make the best use possible of data and AI;
- A national registry must be created, for better cancer control and patient care.”
