Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in Oncology: Unrealised Potential? – European Cancer Organisation
That’s a wrap! Thank you to everyone who joined us today at our Community C365 Roundtable Meeting “Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in Oncology: Unrealised Potential?” to discuss pertinent and developing aspects of the PROMs agenda.
Key immediate takeaways:
➡Wide recognition from all stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, researchers, policymakers and others about the how value and promise for PROs for ensuring cancer care responds to the real needs of those with cancer
➡Much more remains to be done to bring about their full realisation, including overcoming challenges related to standardisation, straight forward and convenient means of collecting PRO data and getting the feedback loops in place
➡EU is investing in many projects to support improvements in these areas, recognising the multi-stakeholder effort required to make progress.
Stay tuned for the full details of the recommendations to be published in the forthcoming roundtable Action Report. Recording of the meeting available on our website very soon.
