Amar Kishan: A link between acute and late toxicity following prostate radiotherapy

Amar Kishan, Radiation Oncologist, Professor, and Executive Vice Chair of Radiation Oncology at UCLA, shared an article on X he and his colleagues authored:

“Proud to share work led by John Nikitas PGY-5 out in The Lancet Oncology.

We leveraged toxicity data from 6 trials in the MARCAP consortium to establish a clear link between acute toxicity and late toxicity following prostate radiotherapy.

This supports interventions that can reduce acute toxicity, such as aggressive margin reduction, and the idea of consequential late effects. Congrats to John and the many coauthors including: Alison C. Tree, Stefano Arcangeli, Joanne B. Weidhaas, Michael L. Steinberg, Daniel Spratt, Soumyajit Roy, Paul L. Nguyen, Howard M. Sandler
