European Society of Gynaecological Oncology – Advancing Women’s Health in Europe Through Advocacy
European Society of Gynaecological Oncology shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last week our President Anna Fagotti and Deputy Exec Director Katja Pistauer-Fischer led an advocacy mission to Brussels, focusing on the advancement and improvement of women’s health in Europe.
It was a pleasure and a privilege to meet with several members of the European Parliament and speak to them about addressing the inequalities present and breaking down barriers for gynonc patients across the EU. Many thanks to Vytenis Andriukaitis, Tilly Metz, Manuela Ripa, Romana Jerković, ALESSANDRA MORETTI, and Stine Bosse for your time and insights.
The topics discussed included:
- Tackling the limited availablilty of clinical trials across Europe
- Highlighting our work in hospital accreditation and clinician training
- Leveraging our database to further support translational research and standardise care throughout the EU.
This mission comes at a pivotal time, with a new mandate, and a new Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare, Olivér Várhelyi, which have brought ongoing debates on women’s health, expanding Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib’s portfolio to include the topic. We anticipate the perspectives shared will play a crucial role in shaping future European healthcare policies.
A special thanks to the Incisive Health team for their support in making this mission successful.
We are very much looking forward to further exchanges and more work on these topics!”
