“A MILESTONE FOR HEALTH IN KEBBI STATE.
On November 12th, 2020, Kebbi marked a historic moment with the grand launching of the State Cancer Treatment Centre in Kalgo. Spearheaded by the dynamic leadership of the Former Governor and current Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu CON with invaluable support from his Wife, Founder/CEO of Medicaid Cancer Foundation, Board Member of UICC, H.E Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu.
The Cancer Treatment Centre stands tall as a beacon of hope, bringing advanced cancer care to the heart of Kebbi State. This state-of-the-art facility is a testament to the Bagudu’s commitment to the health and well-being of its people. That same day, Kebbi launched a State Strategic Plan For Cancer Control and the State Indigent Cancer Fund.
The collaboration between the Kebbi State Government, Development Partners and NGOs showcases the power of working together in achieving a common goal where cancer can only be a disease but not a threat. Together, they have transformed the landscape of healthcare in Kebbi, making significant strides in the fight against cancer.
With the inauguration of the center, cancer treatment in Kebbi State was accessible to all, completely free of charge. This bold move ensures that financial barriers will not hinder anyone from receiving the care they need.
On behalf of the Survivors, Advocates and all Stakeholders in the Public Health, We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu CON and H.E Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu for their visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to public health. Their dedication has set a precedent for transformative healthcare initiatives across the nation.
As we celebrate this milestone, let us look forward to a future where the Cancer Treatment Centre continues to be a stronghold against the challenges posed by cancer. Together, we stand united in the fight for a healthier, Cancer-Free Kebbi and Nigeria. ”
