Katalin Karikó, Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery at University of Pennsylvania, Nobel Prize laureate, shared on LinkedIn:
“I’m honored to receive the 2023 Fries Prize for Improving Health. Thank you to the CDC Foundation and the James F. and Sarah T. Fries Foundation for this recognition, which I’m pleased to share with this year’s co-winner Dr. Anne Schuchat, CDC’s former principal deputy director. Unfortunately, I am not able to accept the award in-person at this year’s APHA annual meeting but send best wishes to the public health community.
