Natasha shares her breast cancer survivorship journey – The Institute of Cancer Research
The Institute of Cancer Research posted the following on LinkedIn:
““Thanks to my successful treatment, I am back to doing life.”
When Natasha was told she had stage 2 DCIS breast cancer in November 2018, she became the third woman in her family to receive such a diagnosis. She had just celebrated her 45th birthday.
As a nurse, she had looked after many women with breast cancer. But now she had become a patient.
She knew she needed to beat this, for her children as well as for herself.
She had surgery, 12 rounds of chemotherapy, and 20 rounds of radiotherapy – and now, six years on since her diagnosis, she is cancer free.
Natasha is a survivor. She is optimistic. And thanks to her faith, family, friends, and successful treatment, she is back to doing life.
This Christmas, please give the gift of research to help more women like Natasha survive cancer.
