Dégi László Csaba: Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union funded by the CCI4EU Project
Dégi László Csaba, The President of the European Cancer Organisation, posted on LinkedIn:
“It sounds like a significant milestone in the development of the Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructure (CCI) in Northern Portugal!
As part of the CCI4EU Project – Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union, funded by the European Union and led by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), the Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto (IPO-Porto) hosted a team of nine European experts this week for a special consultancy mission (‘Deep Dive’).
This first of three visits focused on Precision Medicine in Oncology, addressing the CCI’s governance model, the cancer patient’s journey, and ways to strengthen collaboration among partners in a robust, integrated network.
Representatives from IPO Porto, i3S – Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde, Unidade Local de Saúde Alto Ave, ULS Braga, Unidade Local de Saúde Gaia e Espinho, the Executive Directorate of the SNS, Direção-Geral da Saúde/PNDO, CCDR Norte, AICIB, Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro – Norte, and the Northern Cancer Registry participated actively. Their collective commitment reflects the determination to transform oncology care in the region.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project continues to take shape and drive meaningful change for cancer care in Europe!”
