Lisa A. Lacasse: We are proud to roll out an empowering campaign to Congress featuring real survivors
“Much is happening on the Hill and around the world as we enter the final months of the year. While being mindful of political and international developments, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) has continued our advocacy, calling on Congress to prioritize cancer in the FY 2024 budget and ensure access to clinical trials, developments in lifesaving research breakthroughs and critical cancer control programs are not put at risk.
We are proud to roll out an empowering campaign to Congress featuring real survivors like Caroline Torres-Maldonado, Danny Efron, Flecia Brown, Leah Davidson and Miguel Melendez. When policymakers FIGHT CANCER by prioritizing research funding and access to affordable health care, including proven prevention and early detection, they MAKE TIME for their constituents to create more anniversaries, weddings, graduations, shared sunsets, and memorable moments. We know our work at American Cancer Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) works. Our nation’s dedication to research, prevention and early detection has helped avert over 3.8 million cancer deaths- and created countless precious memories- since 1991. Yet, there is much work to be done- and many potential memories yet to be created. Please join ACS CAN as we fight to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.”
