Tracey O’Brien: The Cancer Institute NSW welcomes the launch of the Australian Government’s first national Cancer Plan

Tracey O’Brien recently posted on LinkedIn:

“The Cancer Institute NSW welcomes the launch of the Australian Government’s first national Cancer Plan, a 10-year framework to address the burden of cancer and reduce its devastating impact on our community.

The national plan aligns with the objectives of the NSW Cancer Plan 2022-2027, and the newly released Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Plan, with equity and person-centredness at its heart.

Despite great strides in cancer care and research, cancer’s burden is increasing, with more than 164,000 Australians projected to be diagnosed with the disease this year. It’s hoped that together with the efforts taking place in each state and territory, the National Cancer Plan will help bring us that one step closer to reducing cancer’s impact on all Australians.

Read the plan here. ”
