“Congratulations to Rita Schmutzler (University Hospital of Cologne) and Jens Puschhof (DKFZ) for receiving the German Prize for Cancer Prevention Research. The main prize is awarded to Rita Schmutzler, an internationally recognized pioneer in risk-adapted prevention of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. The Young Investigator Award for Cancer Prevention Research goes to Jens Puschhof acknowledged for his discovery concerning bacteria’s impact on colorectal cancer, offering new avenues for prevention.

The two-part prize, established by DKFZ and supported by the Manfred Lautenschläger Foundation, aims to bring attention to exceptional contributions in cancer prevention research.”
