Cristian Massacesi: The critical role personalised treatment plays in improving cancer outcomes
Cristian Massacesi shared on LinkedIn:
“A poignant story as we mark Lung Cancer Awareness Month. When Elden Yee, a 35-year-old husband and father from Singapore, was diagnosed with advanced stage lung cancer, he showed courage and resilience with no bounds. Through biomarker testing and personalised medicine, Elden not only took the diagnosis and cancer treatment in stride, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream by climbing Mount Kinabalu.
Elden’s story highlights the critical role personalised treatment plays in improving outcomes. It is vital that cancer patients have access to screening and biomarker testing to ensure they receive the right and best possible treatment, just like Elden.
We thank Elden for allowing us to tell his story as part of the Rewriting Cancer docuseries, presented by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and produced for AstraZeneca by BBC StoryWorks.
