BCRF held its annual Symposium and Awards Luncheon to honor global group of 260+ breast cancer investigators
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to ending breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research.
This year, BCRF is the largest private funder of breast cancer research—and metastatic breast cancer research—worldwide and is the highest-rated breast cancer research organization in the country.
BCRF’s Symposium and Awards Luncheon celebrates our more than 260 distinguished investigators for their dedication and accomplishments and brings hundreds of supporters together to raise critical funds for our mission—dollars that are helping fund the next breakthroughs. This year’s event will be held on at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 25 in New York City.
The event’s symposium, “Preventing Breast Cancer: Progress in Treatments Leads the Way,” will feature some of the brightest minds in science. The panel includes BCRF investigators Drs. Abenaa Brewster, Lisa Carey, and Robert Vonderheide and will be co-moderated by BCRF Founding Scientific Director Dr. Larry Norton and BCRF Scientific Director Dr. Judy Garber. Dr. Garber will receive the Foundation’s Jill Rose Award for Scientific Excellence and The Pink Agenda will receive the Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award at this year’s luncheon.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation shared on LinkedIn:
Last Friday, BCRF held its annual Symposium and Awards Luncheon to honor our global group of 260+ breast cancer investigators, which raised $2.75 million for lifesaving research! The event began with a symposium featuring a panel of five esteemed BCRF investigators and was followed by a luncheon hosted by journalist Anne Thompson, a breast cancer thriver.
This year’s luncheon honored The Pink Agenda with the Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award for their extraordinary efforts to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research among young professionals, and their deep commitment to BCRF. Dr. Larry Norton presented BCRF’s Scientific Director Dr. Judy Garber with the Jill Rose Award for Scientific Excellence for her outstanding contributions to clinical and translational cancer genetics that have advanced the care of patients and families with hereditary breast cancers.
BCRF thanks the event’s generous supporters, chairs, underwriters, and everyone else who made this event such a success.
