227ICC meeting highlights by Wafik S. El-Deiry
The Interurban Clinical Club, founded by Sir William Osler in 1905, serves as a vital platform for academic physician-scientists in the Northeast U.S. to foster dialogue and collaboration. With a maximum of 75 active members from cities like Baltimore, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and New Haven, the club emphasizes high-impact biomedical research and the training of future physician-scientists.
Twice a year, the club hosts meetings that include a scientific symposium showcasing local research and a formal dinner that brings together members, guests, and MD-PhD students. Membership is selective, with nominations from current members followed by discussions and elections. The ICC is dedicated to promoting excellence and diversity within its community and in the broader field of academic medicine.
