Ulrika Årehed Kågström: Working towards a future where quality cancer care is available to everyone, everywhere
Ulrika Årehed Kågström shared on LinkedIn:
“With over 35 million new cancer cases projected by 2050, it is more urgent than ever to address inequalities in cancer control—both across and within nations. The challenge is especially pressing in low-income countries, where basic cancer care remains out of reach for many.
By making cancer control a top priority on the global health agenda and by building strong, multisectoral partnerships, we can take essential steps toward reducing cancer incidence and mortality worldwide. Together, we can work towards a future where quality cancer care is available to everyone, everywhere.”
Ulrika Årehed Kågström is the President of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the Secretary-General of the Swedish Cancer Society. Prior to joining the Swedish Cancer Society, Ulrika was the Secretary-General at the Swedish Red Cross. She is also the chairperson of the Swedish Arts Council (appointed by the Government).
