“I had the privilege of joining my fellow First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC NIGERIA) in Rabat, Morocco, from October 22nd to 25th for an inspiring journey to advance breast cancer care in Nigeria. Our time in Morocco allowed us to learn from the impactful work being done by the Princess Lala Salma Foundation ENSEMBLE CONTRE LE CANCER(FLS) and two other patient advocacy groups, ASSOCIATION DAR ZHOR and Ruban Rose, Roche Africa organized the Flac Experience and we’re excited to bring these insights home, especially in early detection and patient-centered care.
On day 1, we were all inspired and motivated by the work done by the Lala Salma Foundation. The organization has truly changed the face of cancer in Morroco.
Another highlight was our visit to the National Institute of Oncology (INO), we witnessed firsthand the dedication to cancer treatment that Morocco has developed, and it strengthened our resolve to create similar standards for Nigerian women facing breast cancer.
This journey together shows that as advocates, we can transform the future of cancer care in Nigeria to create a world where every woman has access to the care and support she deserves.”
