Sachin H. Jain: Among the best things you can do as a leader is to help others overcome self-limiting beliefs
Sachin H. Jain, President and CEO of SCAN Group and Health Plan, shared on LinkedIn:
“Among the best things you can do for someone as a manager or organizational leader is to help others overcome self-limiting beliefs.
From an early age, so many people tell themselves unhelpful stories about themselves (that often get inadvertently reinforced by others):
‘I’m not smart enough to do X.’
‘I’m more of a strategist or an investor than an operator.’
‘I’m not a numbers person.’
‘I’m not good at public speaking.’
While it’s good to encourage others to lean into their strengths—people often have strengths that are hidden behind negative self-talk.
And the greatest gift you can give-particularly if you see high potential that doesn’t align with with someone’s image of themselves-is to challenge that negative self-talk.”
