“The VI MULTIPROFESSIONAL SYMPOSIUM (LACOG 2024) on genitourinary neoplasms aimed to present the news in the treatments and diagnoses of genitourinary neoplasms, through national and international experts who debated the most relevant topics in the area.
It was extremely enriching to be able to improve my knowledge about kidney cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, immunotherapy, among many other topics.
Ana Claudia’s lecture on the advances and challenges of immunotherapy was enriching (immunotherapy uses the patient’s immune system to attack cancer cells, offering a promising alternative to conventional treatments).
Kleison, who has a Master’s degree in Genetics, spoke about the mechanisms of action of the Drug-Conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (ADC). Which are a new therapeutic class that has been promoting promising results in various types of tumors, using the patient’s immune system to attack cancer cells, offering a promising alternative to conventional treatments.
We also had a beautiful discussion about the importance of double checking for the safety of the patient and the professional involved in this process, mitigating the failures that may occur during the process and the administration of chemotherapy drugs.
It was really a day of a lot of knowledge exchange and a lot of networking with colleagues and leaders in the area!
I have no doubt that the exchange of experience is essential for us to continue to improve the care and care of our dear cancer patients.”
“Another successful edition of the LACOG GU event (VIII International Symposium GU Review and VI MULTIPROFESSIONAL SYMPOSIUM). Possibility of seeing great friends again and having thought-provoking discussions on urological tumors.”

“VIII International Symposium GU Review
VI Multiprofessional Symposium
LACOG 2024
What an honor to moderate a panel on ‘Quality of Life’.
I thank the organizing committee Lelia Martin and Janyce Cassiolato Marti Sguassabia.
We discussed topics of great relevance to our practice: ‘instruments for assessing quality of life’ and ‘geriatric evaluation of patients with genitourinary cancer’.
In addition to medical treatment, the quality of life of cancer patients must be prioritized. Proper pain management, nutritional support, adapted physical activities, and psychological follow-up are important aspects that contribute to the patient’s overall well-being.”
“About 50% of all patients diagnosed with cancer are 65 years of age or older. Differentiated care for the most ‘experienced’ people is essential!
Congratulations for the concern with the theme
LACOG GU Review 2024.”
“Enriching my trajectory even more with the valuable experiences provided by the residency.
