Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center and WIN Consortium in cancer personalized medicine have joined forces to advance innovative cancer research.”

The Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only NCI-designated center in Western North Carolina, recognized for its excellence in research and patient care among just 57 comprehensive cancer centers in the U.S. This prestigious designation underscores the center’s commitment to the highest standards in oncology.

The center is organized into four primary areas of focus: Cancer Genetics and Metabolism, Cancer Prevention and Control, Neuro Oncology, and Signaling and Biotechnology. These programs foster collaboration among members, driving advancements in cancer treatment and enhancing outcomes for patients in the region and beyond.

WIN Consortium

The WIN Consortium was established to enhance collaboration among organizations in cancer research, aiming to improve survival rates and quality of life for cancer patients. Under the leadership of Wafik El-Deiry, Chair of the WIN Consortium and Director of the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University (USA), members work together to design and implement global studies focused on significant breakthroughs in treatment.

A distinguished Scientific Advisory Board oversees these research efforts, ensuring scientific rigor. Current trials emphasize personalized medicine and aim to expand therapeutic options for patients worldwide.
