Melina Georgousakis: Building meaningful partnerships through trust and time

Melina Georgousakis, Founder and Director of Franklin Women, posted the following on LinkedIn:

“Whenever I am asked about building meaningful partnerships the words that come to mind are… trust and time.

Every Franklin Women Partner has a story of connection that often goes back many years and has a history of collaboration. This couldn’t be more true for Children’s Cancer Institute, our newest Partner Organisation.

I still remember one of my earliest meetings after founding FW was with Professor Michelle Haber, the Executive Director of Children’s Cancer Institute, who candidly shared her career story with me and offered me inspiration and motivation for building what I dreamt Franklin Women could be.

In the years since, Prof Maria Kavallaris has spoken at FW events on increasing the nomination and representation of WomenInSTEMM among sector awards, and the ever amazing Emily Mould, PhD has joined the FW Peer Advisory Group.

Now, this brilliant NSW-based Medical Research Institute dedicated to curing childhood cancer is one of 24 Franklin Women Partner Organisations, continuing our long history of collaboration. I am so excited and grateful for this investment in the FW Mission.”
