Rasha Alfawaz: Our project on strengthening cancer screening in Gulf countries presented at WCC 2024

“Excited to share that I attended the World Cancer Congress 2024, where my team presented our project on strengthening cancer screening in Gulf countries!

The event brought together over 2,000 delegates from more than 120 countries, creating a vibrant platform for discussing global strategies in cancer prevention and care. While in Geneva, we visited the WHO headquarters and had valuable meetings with the NCDs department and the AMR division, enriching our collaboration and sharing our experiences.

During the congress, I was inspired by sessions on the integration of cancer and NCD prevention into global policies, emphasizing the urgent need for action. We explored how AI is transforming cancer care, improving diagnostics and treatment while addressing ethical standards and data privacy concerns.

Key discussions also highlighted the importance of multi-stakeholder action in cancer control, showcasing successful partnerships that are driving meaningful change.

Together, we can make significant strides in cancer prevention!”
