“HPV vaccine is one of 3 pillars that will help us eliminate cervical cancer. When I attended the launch of this consortium a year ago in Malaysia, Nigerian girls did not have access to HPV vaccine.

Thanks to unrelenting advocacy, political will, strong partnerships, and crossing the Ts by the Coordinating Minister of Health Muhammad Ali Pate, 13million girls have been vaccinated. They will grow into strong empowered women.

Thank you for taking the lead with the Global HPV Consortium, Anuradha Gupta, Vice President Global Immmunization Sabin Vaccine Institute, Helen Clark.”

Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu is a founder of the Medicaid Cancer Foundation in Nigeria and a board member of UICC. An ardent Advocate for Action of the Global HPV Consortium, she helped launch the effort to mobilize women to End Cervical Cancer and Prevent HPV a year ago.”
