Douglas Flora: Honoring Women in STEM and Medicine Leading the Way for My Daughter and Future Generations
Douglas Flora shared on LinkedIn:
“I just had to share this picture because it hit home. As a dad with a daughter in STEM, currently powering through her first year of medical school, I’m so grateful she has strong female role models like Trisha Wise-Draper (congrats on the new promotion!) and the incredible female leaders I’m surrounded by at St. Elizabeth (almost the entire cancer program!).
To all my female friends—whether you’re pharmacists, docs, engineers, killing it in research, or running medical schools and hospitals—thank you for paving the way for my daughter. FYI, we’ve currently got brilliant women running ASCO, the ACCC, the American Cancer Society, COA, and the NCI and NIH right now—and we are better for it. Each of them is a rock star, that happens to be a woman.
Beyoncé might’ve been onto something…something about who rules the world?

Catharine Young, This one is right up your alley! Share it with your future STEM leader.
P.S. Reilly Flora, your Dad is so proud of you. There is nothing you can’t do. ”
