“Very proud of my PhD Student Mun Yee Koh who won the young investigator award at the recently concluded International Myeloma Society Annual Meeting.
She discover a new mechanism of resistance to (and by implication mode of action of) immunomodulatory drugs in myeloma. Immunomodulatory drugs form the back bone of myeloma treatment so this finding has important clinical implications. Paper is being submitted so details will be available soon! Also proud that she follows in the footsteps of previous students Chonglei Bi, Jing Yuan Chooi and Phaik Ju Teoh who also won this award. What this also shows is the lab is constantly producing world class work!
Long may this continue as we strive to make breakthroughs for myeloma!”
