“Moments ago, Charlie, a 12-year-old brain tumor survivor, testified to the United States Senate Committee on Finance and urged members to support the Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act. This important legislation aims to eliminate potential delays for critically ill children who are on Medicaid and need to cross state lines for treatment.

Throughout his treatment journey, Charlie has had to seek specialized care in multiple states, and he felt compelled to speak out about the bill when he learned how it would benefit other children. You can read his testimony here.

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation was honored when Charlie’s family reached out to us about his wish to testify to Congress. We are grateful to Senator Debbie Stabenow and Senator Chuck Grassley for working with us to make this happen.

And Charlie’s day has only begun! He’s now heading to meetings with other members of Congress to share his journey and why kids with brain cancer need to be a national health priority. Keep an eye out for photos from his day!”
