“One of my favorite parts of my job is meeting volunteers and hearing their stories. Kristen Withey and Marian Laurice Hewitt are both strong, compassionate, beautiful breast cancer survivors who are working to support other survivors as they go through their cancer journeys.
Kristen, an eight-year survivor, is a long-time volunteer with American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, raising money for research and programs, and helping make sure no one has to face a diagnosis alone.
Since being diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, Marian has worked to support other women with breast cancer by giving rides to treatment through the American Cancer Society’s Road To Recovery program and offering one-on-one peer support through the Reach To Recovery program.
