Sami (Papacek) Mansfield: Jessica Baladad developed an app that can make a difference to save another person’s life

Sami (Papacek) Mansfield, shared a post by Jessica Baladad, Founder and Chief Advocate Of Feel For Your Life, on X, adding:

“Life presents us with choices every day. They are not always easy, enjoyable, or thrilling. Often, they are frightening, frustrating, and life-threatening.

We cannot control what happens to us, but we can control our response.

Sharing a highlight of a story and the “why” from Jessica Baladad, who is not only brave enough to share her story but has also developed an app that can make a difference to save another person’s life!

My shameless plug would be to consider that along with early detection, including risk-reducing tools and resources could pack an even bigger punch!”

Quoting Jessica Baladad’s post:

“The first ultrasound I shared with my husband was of a breast tumor.

I was 33. He was 37.

At this point in our lives, our friends were were sharing ultrasound photos as they planned for children. I was planning my living will and getting my affairs in order. (Technically my attorney was.)

On this day six years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

And though I’ve been in remission for 5 years, I commit my life to fighting cancer every day.

Jessica Baladad
I fight “cancer” when I show up in the gym.

I fight “cancer” when intrusive thoughts try to tell me I “can’t.”

I fight “cancer” when baseless critics make statements that lack substance or intelligence.

I fight “cancer” when insurance companies deny patient claims or PBMs reject medications.

I show up every day to fight the insidious forms cancer takes. And I’m relentless against it.

Every year around this time, my friends create those adorable photos of their kids going back to school. And since my “cancerversary” falls around the same time, I like to join in on the fun.

Shameless plug – I can’t talk about my breast cancer story without reminding you (again), that a self exam saved my life when a practitioner told me I was “too young” for breast cancer. That experience led me to creating the most trusted and dowloaded self exam app. Check out Feel For Your Life in the App Store and Google Play store.”
