Runcie C.W. Chidebe: Cancer may try but it cannot take the greatness in us
Runcie C.W. Chidebe shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Are you looking for inspiration? This should inspire you! Our champion Mrs Mide a had breast cancer and had mastectomy (i.e., the removal of breast) and also had her baby after her treatment.
Yes, most cancer treatments affect, sexual health, fertility, brings about sexual dysfunction, but many cancer survivors return to normal life.
Whatever you are going through right now, just know that if Mrs. Mide MADE IT, you can MAKE IT. Cancer may try but it cannot take the greatness in us. Join Project PINK BLUE in Choke Cancer
Read her full story: About this time four years ago, I was nearing the date of my baby’s delivery by CS and I was excited to welcome a second child )and finally know the gender).
However, I was worried about being able to breastfeed exclusively, as I had undergone a mastectomy the year before, to treat Breast Cancer.
I am forever grateful that the cancer was detected early and I was even able to breastfeed Tayo exclusively for 6 months and ‘recreationally’ till he was 2 years old.
My almost-4-yr-old is thriving, bouncing off the walls, correcting our grammar and showing us what @bodeagbola was like as a toddler. (Me, I was a very peaceful child).
Breast Cancer is one of the cancers that has a good survival rate. With early detection and treatment, you can live a full and healthy life after diagnosis. It is not a death sentence.
When was the last time you did a Self Breast Exam”
