“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened more than 60 years ago when childhood cancer was virtually incurable. Thanks in part to our scientific developments, overall survival rates have risen to more than 80%. It’s an amazing success story — but it is unfinished.

A global movement is underway, led by St. Jude and the World Health Organization, and I was honored to be part of the United Nations General Assembly this week celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer and honor the incredible work of our partner countries.

Together — with you and the world by our side — we will defeat childhood cancer. Everywhere.”
