Yüksel Ürün: The terms ‘manageable’ and ‘acceptable’ can be misleading
Yüksel Ürün shared a post by Yakup Ergün, Medical Oncologist at Antalya City Hospital, on X, adding:
“The terms ‘manageable’ and ‘acceptable’ safety profiles can be misleading. Adverse events and treatment interruptions can significantly impact patients’ quality of life. It’s essential to reconsider these terms to ensure they truly represent patient experiences.”
Quoting Yakup Ergün’s post:
“Can we truly label a study with Grade 5 toxicity as ‘acceptable’ or ‘manageable’? My letter on the necessity of “redefining toxicity terminology in clinical trial reporting” (original title).”
