Sonja Loges: This weekend the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center was hosting the NCT 2nd National Conference Patients as Research Partners – entirely organized by patient experts.
Sonja Loges, Director of the Division of Personalized Oncology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg, recently shared the following post on LinkedIn:
”This weekend the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center was hosting the NCT 2nd National Conference Patients as Research Partners – entirely organized by patient experts. It was an honor to participate and discuss with Bärbel Söhlke, Rainer Göbel, Richard Schlenk, Julia Ritzerfeld and Michael Zaiac about opportunities and challenges in clinical trials in Germany. We need to act now to leverage the NCT network to be faster especially with contract negotiations leave silos and integrate practice-based oncologists secure patients access to drugs by finding new re-embursement models for precision oncology drugs because drugs withdrawn (Amivantamab The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson), (Capmatinib Novartis) or not at all launched in Germany (Opdualag Bristol Myers Squibb) cost lifetime of patients.”
