St. Baldrick’s Foundation: This 4th grader is happy to be a “regular” kid – her wish for all kids with cancer.

Quoting St. Baldrick’s Foundation on LinkedIn:

“Ten-year-old Isabella loves to dance. When she isn’t in tap, jazz, or ballet classes, you’d find her doing puzzles or playing volleyball with her sister. She also has a love of travel and eating out. Isabella’s mom, Jennifer, shared, ‘Isabella can be described as small but mighty, extremely brave and strong-willed, she is also very funny, always making us laugh!’

Diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma in June 2015 at 21 months old, Isabella endured six rounds of chemotherapy, major surgery to remove the primary tumor, high-dose MIBG radiation therapy, 20 sessions of proton radiation, 2 rounds of high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplants, and several months of immunotherapy. While treatment is complete, her family still worries daily about the risk of relapse and treatment side effects. Isabella struggles with poor growth and has difficulty gaining weight. However, for the most part, this 4th grader is happy to be a ‘regular’ kid – her wish for all kids with cancer.
