Samra Turajlić, Director of CRUK Manchester Institute, shared on LinkedIn:
“It was a pleasure to co-chair a session on Biology and Models of Early Cancer at EDXCONF26 in Edinburgh this week.
Ultimately, if we are to make a meaningful impact on the early detection of cancer, we need to understand the biology behind the signals we are measuring – and we need appropriate models that reflect the complex interactions between the host, the cancer and the environment.
We had a brilliant session and a thought-provoking discussion, featuring Sarah Aitken, Jacco van Rheenen, Shalini V. Rao and Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute’s own William Hill.
A great opportunity to bring together different perspectives on how a deeper understanding of early cancer biology can help us develop better approaches to early detection.”
