“Back home and back to work after an intense and unforgettable SIOP Congress!
The days were filled with moderating sessions, organizing meetings, speaking, presenting research, and contributing to important discussions. But beyond the busy scientific program, the most special part of SIOP is always reconnecting with colleagues and friends – people we love to see every year.
It was also a special moment to present the progress of the POEM-OS study – our first multicountry prospective osteosarcoma study within the POEM Group. This progress belongs to the entire POEM-OS team and every participating center.
International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP is much more than a congress. It is a community united by a shared commitment to improving childhood cancer care worldwide – and a community that is very close to my heart.
A very special thank you to the Health Fund for Children of Armenia for making this journey and my participation in the congress possible. Special thanks to Armen Martirosyan and Ivetta Ghazaryan for organizing everything so quickly and smoothly – it made the whole journey much easier.
Many thanks as well to the City of Smile Charitable Foundation for kindly covering the congress registration.
And, of course, thank you to the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, Ministry of Health of Armenia and to my wonderful colleagues for supporting my participation and covering everything at the hospital while I was away.
Being able to take part in international meetings like this is possible only because of the team at home.
