The Missing Children

Hosts: International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) | International Pediatric Association (IPA)

The WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer seeks to achieve at least 60% survival for children with cancer worldwide by 2030. However, survival can only be improved for children who enter the health system and receive a diagnosis. Millions of children with cancer never reach an oncologist. Lost to delayed diagnosis, misdiagnosis, poverty, and fragile health systems, they remain invisible to care. This session is a global call to find the missing children—and ensure every child has a chance to be diagnosed, treated, and cured. By bringing together WHO leaders, paediatricians, health system experts, survivors, and policymakers, the session will generate a global call to action to ensure that no child with cancer remains invisible.
