“How can Europe ensure that its commitments to improving cancer care translate into lasting action across Member States?
On 17 November 2026, Cancer Patients Europe (CPE), under the auspices of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026, will bring together EU institutions, Member States and key stakeholders for a high-level event in Brussels:
‘Strengthening Health in the European Semester: A Pilot on Cancer.’
Despite progress in cancer care, inequalities persist across Europe in prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
Strengthening the health dimension of the European Semester could help ensure more systematic monitoring of cancer-related commitments, improve coordination between countries and support the long-term sustainability of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
The event will mark an important step towards building high-level consensus on the Cancer Pilot and formally launching a roadmap for its development and implementation.
- 17 November 2026 / 13:00 – 17:00 CET
- Blankspace, Rue d’Arlon 80, Brussels
Join us in advancing a more coordinated, equitable and sustainable approach to cancer care across Europe.
