Association of European Cancer Leagues Holds 2026 Annual Meetings in Finland

Association of European Cancer Leagues shared on LinkedIn:

“What a week in Helsinki.

This week, ECL brought its member organisations together for our 2026 Annual Meetings in Helsinki, Finland, and today we close with the ECL Scientific Conference.

During the CEO Roundtable, leaders from cancer leagues across Europe came together for open and constructive discussions on the opportunities and challenges ahead for our network, and on how we can continue to grow stronger together.

At the General Assembly, we looked back on a year of work together and set our priorities for the year ahead. What came through again and again was that our strength comes from our members: 35 national and regional cancer societies sharing expertise, experience and ambition for a Europe free of cancer.

The Scientific Conference today is bringing the evidence into the room, connecting research with the policy and practice our members work on every day.

A huge thank you to our hosts, Syöpäjärjestöt, the Cancer Society of Finland and president Juha Pekka Turunen, for their warm welcome, flawless organisation and generous hospitality. And thank you to every member who joined us for the open discussions, sharp questions and real commitment you brought to the table.

We’re heading back to Brussels with plenty of ideas and a clear sense of direction. More to follow soon.”
