The University of Texas Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an exceptional clinician-scientist and visionary leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention within the Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences. This is a rare chance to lead a multidisciplinary, national powerhouse—advancing care that begins before cancer develops and research that pushes prevention forward.
What you’ll do:
- Set and drive a strategic vision for a premier prevention department
- Lead a team of 10 faculty and 17 advanced practice providers delivering evidence-based prevention across clinics
- Accelerate groundbreaking research—from early detection biomarkers to prevention-focused clinical trials and personalized risk reduction
- Build high-performing teams by strengthening mentorship, education, innovation, collaboration, and departmental growth—while overseeing clinical and research operations
Who you are:
- An MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent
- Board certified in Internal Medicine, an Internal Medicine subspecialty (e.g., Medical
Oncology, Gastroenterology, Hematology), or Family Medicine. - A strong record of clinical excellence, academic leadership, and independent research funding
- Experience leading complex academic programs and multidisciplinary teams
