Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Spotlights Grandparents Moving Miles for Childhood Cancer Hope

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation shared on X:

“When asked if we could share this photo during The Million Mile, Bruce and Roberta (Bert) Rauch answered with enthusiasm: ‘Certainly! Anything for Alex’s!’

The couple moves miles in honor of their grandson Kevin, a survivor of Stage 4 neuroblastoma. Today Kevin is 23, and they have been supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for 17 years!

Diagnosed at 3 years old, Kevin received an experimental stem cell transplant at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. The trial was partially funded by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. This treatment eventually became protocol. Kevin went on to earn his MA in Architecture from Kansas University and now works as an architect. Bruce and Bert are grateful to Alex and hopes their grandson’s story will give hope to others too.”
